Both in solar thermal systems and in industrial applications of laser technology, which is now developing rapidly. In the mid-90s, we demonstrated [1] the possibility of using laser technology to weld solar thermal absorbers, which until then was done with traditional techniques. Due to the technical and financial risks of this period (solid state lasers were not yet fully developed), it resulted in a delay in the industrial use of this application.
